Product Overview

The 240mm² Single Core XLPE Insulated Power Cable is a low-voltage (0.6/1kV) energy cable designed for fixed installation in power distribution networks, industrial facilities, commercial buildings, and infrastructure projects. Construction Details – Layer by Layer


This cable is built with the following layers, from innermost to outermost:


1. Conductor – Class 2 plain annealed copper, circular stranded and compacted for reduced diameter and enhanced conductivity. Meets IEC 60228.

2. Conductor Screen – A semi-conducting layer bonded to the insulation, ensuring a uniform electrical field distribution and preventing partial discharges.

3. XLPE Insulation – Cross-linked polyethylene, a thermosetting material with superior dielectric strength, low loss, and excellent thermal aging resistance. Rated for 90°C continuous operation and 250°C under short-circuit conditions.

4. Insulation Screen – A removable or bonded semi-conducting layer for stress control at the insulation surface.

5. Outer Sheath – PVC (standard) or LSZH (low smoke zero halogen, optional). Provides mechanical protection, flame retardancy, and UV resistance. Black or custom colors available.

A: Yes. Upon request, we can supply this cable with an LSZH outer sheath. During a fire, LSZH emits minimal smoke and no toxic halogen gases (such as hydrogen chloride), making it ideal for tunnels, underground railways, airports, data centers, and any confined or poorly ventilated spaces.

Q: What is the maximum pulling tension for installation?

A: The maximum recommended pulling tension is 50 N/mm² of the total conductor cross-section. For a 240mm² copper conductor, this is approximately 12,000 N (about 1,220 kg-force or 2,690 lbs). Always use a pulling swivel and avoid exceeding the minimum bending radius during installation.

Q: Can you provide third-party inspection before shipment?

Inspectors may witness the entire manufacturing process, witness routine testing, verify dimensions, and confirm packaging before release.
